Meet David Goukassian
The grandson of a respected judge in Armenia, David graduated magna cum laude from WMU Cooley Law School, where he led the Mock Trial board, before dedicating his practice to defending and representing people across Michigan.
He clerked for Judge Leo Bowman of the Oakland County Circuit Court, is a published contributor to ICLE’s Michigan Drunk Driving Law and Practice, and is a Super Lawyers Rising Star and Elite Lawyer honoree. He is fluent in Armenian and conversational in Russian. His clients describe the same things again and again: he keeps them informed, he’s honest about what to expect, and he treats them like people rather than case numbers.

Questions people ask us most
Should I talk to the police?
Be polite, identify yourself when required, and say you want to speak with a lawyer before answering questions. What you say can be used against you, even when you’re trying to explain your innocence.
Can I get a DWI removed from my record in Michigan?
Often, yes. Michigan now allows one first-offense OWI to be set aside, generally after five years. Learn how expungement works.
The dog that bit me had never bitten anyone before. Do I have a case?
Very likely. Michigan’s dog bite statute holds owners responsible regardless of the dog’s history, as long as you didn’t provoke it and were lawfully where you were. Read about Michigan dog bite law.
Do you handle cases outside Oakland County?
Yes. We represent clients in Oakland, Wayne and Macomb counties and throughout Michigan.
How much does it cost to talk to you?
Nothing. Consultations are free and confidential. Injury cases are handled on a contingency fee, so you pay no fee unless we recover money for you.
